Common Questions and Policies
Sunray wants your stay to be as uncomplicated as possible and you might have some questions. We try to answer as many as possible here:

Where is Sunray's office located? Pick up and drop off keys at the Sunray office located in the Sunriver Business Park. After exiting from Hwy. 97 (exit #153), go approximately two miles into the circle and take the second exit off the circle (the resort is located to the right on the first exit). Continue about 1/10 mile to the business park located at the stop light on the left side of the road. Once you turn in to the business park, turn left, and follow the road. Sunray's office is in the Sunriver Plaza at 56870 Venture Lane Suite #107 (the far end of the building, right across from the library). For full driving directions and map, click here.

What are your office hours? Sunray is open 364 days a year. Our current office hours are 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday-Friday and 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on Weekends. The only day Sunray is closed is Christmas Day so that we too may spend time with our families. Because of this, all arrivals or departures are scheduled around this day.

What if we arrive after your office closes? Please be sure to inform our office if you will be arriving after hours so we can setup other means for you to get your keys.

What time is check-in/out? Check-in time is approximately 4:00 pm. Check-out time is approximately 11:00 am. Check-in time may be delayed slightly during busy seasons.

What kind of deposit is due on booking? The entire balance of your rental is due 60 days before arrival. A 50% rental deposit is due upon making the reservation. Deposits not paid within ten days risk cancellation. A minimum damage and carpet security deposit of $100 (higher in some homes) is due upon arrival. Damage and carpet deposits paid with a check will be returned within approximately 10 business days after your departure and barring any damage to home, carpet, damage done by pets, or breach of rental agreement. If you paid for your reservation with a credit card, we will hold your credit card number as a deposit.

What is your cancellation policy? Your are required to pay balances in full 60 days prior to arrival. Cancellations and changes made prior to 60 days before arrival are subject to a $35.00 non-refundable fee. Cancellations made within 60 days of arrival require full forfeiture of rental amount.

Do you offer insurance in case of emergency? We can provide insurance from CSA VacationRentalInsurance.com for an additional fee. Call our office for details and current rates.

How old do I have to be to rent your homes? Registered guest must be 21 years of age or older. Subletting of rental home is prohibited.

What is included with the home? Kitchen cooking utensils, plates, and silverware, drip coffee makers, linens and towels are provided. Sunray provides a starter of hand and dishwasher soap, toilet paper, kleenex, and garbage bags. Renter provides personal items, all edibles (this includes condiments and spices) and foil or saran wrap.

What if something in the home doesn't work or is broken? Just call the front desk and let us know. While equipment function can not be 100% guaranteed, repairs to malfunctioning equipment will be done as soon as possible. Sunray will attempt to fix problems in a timely manner, within our means.

What about housekeeping services? Sunray cleans prior to your arrival and again after you leave. Cleaning is available during your stay for $28 per hour and must be prearranged.

What is asked of the renter upon departure? Please return your keys to the office. No cleaning is required of the renter; however if the renter strips the beds (do not start the laundry as it's done offsite) and starts the dishwasher, it is very much appreciated. Please make sure you do not shut off the heat, nor leave the hot tub jets on high.

What if we lose a personal item? We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please make sure you do no leave anything behind. If we have to go out and search or retrieve a lost item there will be a reasonable charge for fuel, labor, and shipping fees.

What if I lose a key? A $25.00 lost key fee for each house key and $30 for each condominium pool key is charged for each key not returned to the office.

Can we have an extra person (or children) sleep on the floor in sleeping bags? Unfortunately, no (unless they're under the age of five). Sunriver and Deschutes County (5.12.020) have occupancy ordinances designed to keep Sunriver the place you'd like to come back to. It is designed not to overtax the water, sewage, road, and other systems required in maintaining a smooth flowing environment. Only the number of people stated in the description of the property and on the postings in the home are permitted to sleep in the home. Violation of the maximum overnight occupancy is a class B infraction and subjects each occupant to a maximum of a $100.00 fine. Per owners contracts, maximum occupancy may be less than allowed by Deschutes County occupancy ordinance.

Can we bring our pets? Yes! Please let us know what you need as we do have many homes that allow pets. There is a one-time per-pet fee of $40 (non-refundable) for pets and an additional security deposit collected (a minimum of $75) in homes that allow it. Please be sure to honor the pet policies in the description of the property as there are homeowners that are highly allergic to pets. Pets in a non-pet home are considered a breach of rental agreement. Pet-doo must be removed to proper container. Pets must be on leashes or in carriers and should not disturb neighboring homes.

Can we smoke? All of our homes are non-smoking.

Where can I park? All vehicles must be parked in the driveway or garage. On-street parking is prohibited. RVs, boats, and trailers can not be parked at the home. These vehicles/trailers must be parked in the owner storage area located by the police station. The cost is $8.00 per night with a refundable $20 key deposit. Renter must arrange space via the Sunriver Owner's Association during regular hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The phone number is 541-593-2411. The only exception is if the RV is the only form of transportation and it must completely fit in the driveway.

Do the homes have cable? All our homes have at least the limited basic package from the local cable company. Click here for channel line up. If you need a specific channel during your vacation, call us and we'll check the home's channel line-up.

Are there phones in the units? Phones and local phone service are available in nearly all of our homes (only a couple homes do not provide local telephone service -- call us for details or read the description on the property). Long distance calls are made with calling cards or credit cards, with service charges. Local and toll-free calls are free.

Is high speed Internet available? We do have high speed Internet in most of our homes. Look in the property description for details.

Is there a BBQ? Gas BBQs, along with propane, are provided with all of our homes. Charcoal BBQs are not permitted in Sunriver because of fire danger.

Is there medical attention? Yes. High Desert Medical Center is located in Sunriver at 541-593-5400. The nearest pharmacy is Wal-Mart or Albertsons in Bend (about 15 miles north on the South end of Bend).

What is Sunriver and what is there to do? Sunriver is a 3,340-acre resort and residential/recreation oriented community located 15 miles south of Bend in Central Oregon. Over 1800 people make Sunriver their full-time home and dozens of other families spend up to several months a year in the Central Oregon sunshine. Everyone can find something to do here. Recreation facilities include two 18-hole golf courses, 29 tennis courts, 33 miles of paved bike paths, two swimming pools, stables, an ice rink/mini-golf course, marina, Nature Center, white water rafting, canoes, and Nordic and Alpine skiing nearby. Discount or free passes are given to our guests at check-in for many of these activities. What about bike riding? There are over 30 miles of bike paths in Sunriver. Many of our homes include bikes, but there are also rental shops in Sunriver. Bike paths are patrolled and tickets are issued when the displayed signs are disobeyed. All children under the age of 16 are required, by Oregon State Law, to wear helmets (you must provide your own helmet). There are many other Sunriver activities available, as well. Motor vehicles and in-line skates (roller blades) are not permitted on the bike paths.

What about Mavericks access? Mavericks is our new state-of-the-art fitness and recreation center with indoor pool, flowrider wave machine, cardio and strength equipment, tanning, yoga, arcade, rock climbing wall and more, and if you stay in one of our Mavericks member homes, you will get access to this facility. Anything else I should know? Sunray is not responsible for events out of Sunray's control, such as natural or man-made disaster, electrical blackout, loss of telephone service, and no refunds will be given. Home rates, specials, nightly minimums and descriptions are subject to change. Firearms and fireworks are not permitted. Cleaning fees are non-refundable. Other restrictions may apply.
